This Privacy Policy describes how MOQ Manager ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our Shopify app. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other U.S. state privacy laws.

When you use MOQ Manager, we may collect the following types of information:

Shop Information: We collect your Shopify shop domain, shop ID, and basic shop configuration data necessary to provide our services.

Product Data: We collect product IDs, product handles, variant IDs, and product metadata (collections, tags, vendors) to apply minimum order quantity (MOQ) rules and limits.

MOQ Configuration Data: We store the minimum, maximum, and multiple quantity limits you configure for your products, as well as any rules you create for collections, tags, or vendors.

Usage Data: We may collect information about how you interact with our app, including feature usage and error logs, to improve our services.

Account Information: We collect your email address and account information provided by Shopify for authentication and support purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain our MOQ management services

• Enforce minimum order quantity rules on your storefront

• Process and respond to your support requests

• Improve our app functionality and user experience

• Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights

• Send you important updates about our services (you can opt out at any time)

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

Service Providers: We may share information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating our app, such as hosting providers (Heroku) and database services, subject to confidentiality agreements.

Shopify: We share necessary information with Shopify to provide our app services through the Shopify platform, in accordance with Shopify's Partner Program Agreement.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government regulation, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard security measures:

• Data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL protocols

• Database access is restricted and protected with authentication

• We regularly update our security practices to protect against unauthorized access

• Data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (Heroku) with appropriate access controls

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Privacy Rights (CCPA and U.S. State Laws)

If you are a resident of California or other U.S. states with privacy laws, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Right to Know: You have the right to request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, use, and disclose.

6. Compliance Webhooks

Our app subscribes to Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks to handle data subject requests in accordance with privacy laws:

customers/data_request: When a customer requests access to their data, we receive a webhook notification. We acknowledge the request and provide relevant data to the store owner.

customers/redact: When a customer requests deletion of their data, we receive a webhook notification and delete any customer-specific data we have stored.

shop/redact: When you uninstall our app, we receive a webhook notification 48 hours later to delete all shop-related data from our systems.

All webhook requests are verified using HMAC signatures to ensure authenticity and security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations:

• Active account data is retained while your app is installed and active

• Upon app uninstallation, we delete your data within 48 hours as required by Shopify

• We may retain certain information for legal, accounting, or security purposes as required by law

• Support communications may be retained for up to 2 years for quality and legal purposes

8. Children's Privacy

Our app is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately, and we will delete such information.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the updated policy in the app

• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy

• Sending you an email notification for significant changes (if you have provided your email)

Your continued use of our app after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Do Not Track Signals: Our app does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals from browsers. We will update this policy if we implement such functionality in the future.
